Mrs. Norma Espino
Norma L. Espino was born in San Juan and raised in Pharr, TX. Mrs. Espino is a Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High School graduate. She is married and has four children and four grandchildren. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Bilingual Education from the University of Texas-Pan American. She began her teaching career in PSJA ISD and served in different capacities from classroom teacher, Reading Resource Teacher, and Literacy Coach. In 2002, she earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration with a Principal’s Certificate from UTPA. Norma was employed in PSJA ISD for 12 years. In 2004, she earned a Childcare Director’s License where she owned and operated her own learning center. In 2008, she joined Vanguard Academy and served in different capacities from classroom teacher, Reading Coach, Assistant Principal, Principal, and District Reading Strategist. In addition, Mrs. Espino received her Superintendent Certificate from UT RGV in 2015. Mrs. Espino joined Excellence in Leadership Academy for the 2018-2019 school year where she plans to use her educational experience to serve the students of this great community.
