WELCOME to the Excellence in Leadership Academy Counseling Page.
School Counseling is a developmental process in which one individual (the counselor) provides another individual or group (student(s)), with guidance and encouragement, as well as challenge and inspiration in creatively managing and resolving practical, personal, and relationship issues to help students achieve their goals.

Mission Statement
The mission of Excellence in Leadership Academy's school counseling program is to provide a comprehensive school counseling program that assists all students to be productive citizens in our community and lifelong learners through academic, personal, and social-emotional growth and development.

ELA Counselor is responsive to campus needs, provides services per TEC 33.005, and follows the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs
The model is based on the following four components:
Guidance Curriculum, Individual Planning, Responsive Service, and System Support
Based on a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program promoting student success through a focus on academic achievement, prevention and intervention activities, advocacy, and social/emotional and career development to meet the needs of the students and community of ELA.
A School Counselor assists students with any immediate personal concerns, crises, or events that are causing stress in the academic environment through:
Tier 1 Services: All students receive services through regularly scheduled classroom guidance lessons.

Tier 2 Services: Group Counseling
Throughout the school year, I will provide several "Lunch Bunch" counseling groups. Teachers recommend the students that they feel will most benefit from these groups. Parents can also recommend that their child participate in group counseling here at ELA.Tier 1 Services: Individual CounselingThroughout the year, I provide individual counseling to students who are in immediate need of support.
